Home Based Business Options

Home-based businesses are becoming a popular way to make a living in today’s society. The statistics say that out of every two homes in the nation, one home will have someone working from their home office. Reasons for this range from high daycare costs, to people getting tired of the corporate rat race, to parents wanting to spend more time with their children. Even some companies are encouraging their own employees to work for them out of their home. It benefits both parties in many ways. Obviously, the employee can work in the comfort of his or her own home. Stress is definitely reduced to the employee, the cost of gasoline is reduced, the cost of daycare is either reduced or eliminated, and in most cases the employee can work at his or her own pace. For the company, the corporate space needed is reduced, some benefits may not need to be offered, such as sick pay, maternity leave or others, and it is proven that productivity is increased. The benefits to a home-based business/work from home career are impressive.

Some types of companies that are going in the direction of this work from home option include:

  •  Real Estate-Realtors can have clients come to their own home and take them to showings on their own.
  •  Sales people-They can set up an office in their home and travel to their clients, while reporting to their company through phone, fax and Internet.
  •  Banks-Loan officers can submit the paperwork they need to complete mortgages etc. via Internet
  •  Travel Agents-The travel industry is primarily done through the Internet. Airline tickets, car rentals, hotel reservations and cruise packages can all be done through the World Wide Web. Ticketless airline reservations or E-tickets are the way of the world.

These are just a few work at home/home-based business ideas. There are literally thousands of ways to make money without leaving your home.

Online Business Opportunities – But Which One Is Right For You?

Since the advent of the internet there has been a boom in people looking for online business opportunities. More and more individuals are seeking other ways to supplement their incomes whilst working from home.

There are many online business opportunities available, but the problem is knowing which one will enable you to earn the amount of cash that you’re looking for and also if that particular internet business opportunity right for you.

When I first decided that I wanted an online business opportunity so that I could stay at home and look after my family, I was absolutely bombarded with websites offering all these different ways of earning money and I’m sure that a lot of them weren’t legal.

Of course, being a search engine virgin, I opted in to a lot of these little schemes that were offered to me, spent huge amounts of money and needless to say none of them really worked. For me personally, I was looking for something a little more ‘meaty’ but something that wouldn’t take up too much of my time or wasn’t complicated.

To cut a very long story really short for you, I came across Network Marketing. I had heard of Network Marketing before, but thought it was something to do with television networks or something along those lines.

I had no idea that Network Marketing could be or ‘is’ even being used as a ‘home based business’ initiative. But now I was intrigued and had to find out what this business opportunity actually meant for me.

For those of you reading this article that may be unsure about what Network Marketing is exactly, the short answer is that it’s when one person sells a product or a service directly to another person. It’s a business model based on distributing products and services through independent representatives.

If you were to become a representative or distributor for a particular network marketing company, you would be compensated for each of the sales that you personally generate and also for the amount of people that join your ‘team’. Read the rest of this entry »
